Featuring music from Bon Jovi.The Lockport Township High School Marching Porters completed their five mile March-A-Thon last weekend. If you cannot make it to any of the stops, you can talk to a member of marching band. The band will first stop at Lago Vista Community (approximately 1:30-2:00), Kelvin Grove School – 8th and Adams Street (approximately 2:30-3:00), Athletic Fields – Division and Garfield (approximately 3:15-3:45), and Dellwood Park (approximately 5:00-5:30). If you would like to stop and listen to the band or just to give a donation, there are spots that the band will stop at. It means a lot to the program that people would give donations, and we are always accepting. The band last year met the hight of expenses from generous donations and the students in the band got to go for free. The bands will be performing in the Silverdome. It is a competition where hundreds of bands from all over the nation come to compete against one another to find out who’s show is the best. The competition is the Bands of American Regional Marching Band Competition, BOA for short, in Pontiac, Michigan.
The band will also be stopping at several locations to perform a “mini concert” and accept donations for a competition to go to. The band marches 5 miles starting from the high school, and ending at Dellwood Park.
This Saturday, August 27th, the Lockport Township High School Marching Band will do a, now yearly, March-A-Thon.
